Currently I am enjoying in-flight wi-fi on a plane up to Seattle for Emerald City Comic Con.
I will be at Artist Alley table Q-18 pretty much all weekend. If you want sketches, I’ll be making them!
$5 gets you a sketch card
$10 gets you a 5″ x 8″
Hooray! New comic! Stop by the table this weekend and get yourself a promo code to download it for free.
I think it turned out well and I hope people enjoy it. I’ve been trying out some different inking tools, still trying to find what works best. Maybe the next one will be done digitally? Maybe I’ll try nib pens again? Who can say?
Finally catching up on some commission backlog. These two were for regular customer Rick who had a couple Blue Line pages autographed, then gave them to me to sketch on.
First one is Felicia Day as Codex from The Guild (which I knew nothing about before looking up reference).
Next is Evangeline Lilly as Kate from Lost and I think this one turned out nicely. Coloring fun!
I made an open offer to my buddies to make them a little Halloween avatar for this most excellent of seasons. The results are below! The gallery will automatically update as I add more. This is pretty much the Most Fun. If you want an avatar, let me know over on Twitter.

Comic Con 2012 long story short: It was super fun, as always, but a much slower show than previous years, sales-wise. I have a list of anecdotes that I will maybe get to someday.
The good news is that I have been drawing quite a bit, catching up on my back log of commissions, the bad news is I can’t share them (yet)! There will be some new stuff to look at soon.
I’ve also been wrangling with the Conjoined Comics site and working on some secret, fun things that will be going up on that site in the near future. I’m learning all sorts of new (to me) tricks, like media queries and whipping the built-in WordPress gallery function into an attractive-yet-functional shape, which is an attempt to reduce the roughly million plugins I currently use.
Did you know I also like to take photos? It’s true, I do. Here’s one that I recently added to my Flickr account, it’s from the trip to Santa Barbara, CA last winter for my birthday.
If you’d like to see the rest, there’s a whole set here.
Greg and I just got back from a little vacation to Washington D.C., so I may share some of my photos full of AMERICA and FREEDOM and JEFFERSON.
It is that magical time of year when I disappear into a deep trance, going to work then drawing comics at night, all in preparation for the funnest of times: Comicon.
If you are a person and are going to Comicon this weekend, make sure to stop by Small Press table M-03.
It hasn’t completely been all work and then more work. There was moving, then a trip to both Michigan and Florida for some family times and then a really lovely wedding on Catalina Island.
Recent artwork has mostly been of the To The Power Against variety, some of which you can see right here.
This next volume is a lot of fun, I’m super looking forward to having it all finished and in the hands of the people.
